2005 model, 4' retro being pulled behind the '84 300DTD whilst camping in Yosemite, CA June 2006. Trailer weight is somewhere around 650lbs, it tows nicely.
I bought it having been used once, in pretty much new condition. The previous owner had added a DVD player and an audio system. Battery was one week old when I took delivery.

The inflatable mattress didn't agree with my back, so I added a factory 3-fold mattress with an additional foam pad. Two brand new pillows fill out the space in the front where there is a gap between mattress and teardrop. Why the factory doesn't make the mattress 8" longer I have no idea!!! The guys down in San Diego were helpful, managing to sell me a spare mattress from their stock. Shipping one costs more than the actual purchase price!

The rear is very plain. For my money, it's also the disappoinement on the trailer- all of the wood is heavy, weak MDF. It wouldn't have cost that much more to continue the nice birch ply that they use on the sides- and it would make the trailer that much more desireable. I added a paper towel rack to the rear. Anyone who camps knows why... For about $5 you know exactly where your towels are, and they don't get ruined or fly away. But this view shows why I will eventually sell this trailer- it doesn't have any kitchen equipment built in!

As there was nowhere safe to put my glasses at night, I added a small shelving unit in the inside cabinet. Rubbermaid makes these 3-shelve office units that you can rejoin to build a 5-shelf unit.

The spare tire was mounted too far forward for the Mercedes tow hitch, but I couldnt' move it back as the tire would hit the battery box. Leaving it in the back seat of the car was only a short-term solution. Reworked the mount to move it backwards, welding a large section of pipe and a stabilization bracket.
Eventually I would like to end up with a Cub Modernaire- if you have one or know of one for sale I want to hear about it! But in the short term I'll stick with this little guy as it's ready to camping whenever and girls appreciate cleanliness. Sold 10/16/05...
Since everyone keeps asking how these pictures come out so nice, here are links to the photographic equipment I used. The D40 is technically out of date (I now own a D90) but for the money you can't go wrong. Using these links lets me continue to post for all of you to enjoy!
