1994 US Electricar Pickup

Specifications:

I bought this as my second EV (the first, a Jet Electrica 007, can be seen in the background). After having (and enjoying!) the Jet, I wanted something a bit more modern and finished. This conversion came with most of the specifications required.

The engine bay is most unlike the Jet. All of the electronics are contained within the nice boxes, everything is connected via proper MILSPEC turn lock plugs, and it has provisions for A/C and heat.

The interior is just a typical Chevy. While it is not particularly endearing, it is functional and clean. The only modifications from stock are the addition of an Emeter and a fire extinguisher.

Battery location is a bit tough. To access the pack, you must remove the bed. This is a job for two people, ideally tall people as the bed must be lifted over the tires. I am looking into bed hinges, it would be nice to be able to get at the pack more easily.

Battery type- after paying $1450 for a brand new pack for the Jet, the cost of the Hawker’s is just enormous in comparison. At $104 in quantity, a new pack is over $5k. Finding the Panasonic batteries at surplus prices was very helpful. Range of the truck (even with the Panasonics) is also decreased from the Jet, to ~60 miles from 74.
