As found, sitting in a yard in Sacramento, CA. Apparently there was a problem with the motor, the previous owner parked it in 1982. It was used last as part of a plaster business.

Isn't that a wicked set of headlights?

Looks pretty cool up there on the low boy. The proportions are right- you don't realize how large of a vehicle this is until later.

Here she is, after getting home and up the driveway. Scissors lift for the dump bed still in place (we left the dump bed behind). You don't give much thought to it beforehand, but getting a 6500# vehicle up a slope is not as easy as you would hope. Makes the S10 look pretty small. And the rear window in the cab is small!!!

It's big- Mark is over 6' tall...

The steering wheel is really cool. Also you can see the cranks for the safari windows on the dash.

Instrument panel is just fantastic! The glass for the gages are all convex (curved).

The floorboards are a bit rotted. You can see the levers for the 2-speed rear end, the PTO drive and of course shift lever.

With the scissors lift removed and the dirt, grime and general accumulation of crap removed from the frame. Phospate etch was used to prepare the metal surfaces for paint. If you look at the frame rails, notice they change cross-section from front to rear...

Frame now painted black. This part was done early on in the project to keep the neighbors happy. And hey, it looks good too, makes working on it that much easier as progress is more visible.

The radiator and front of cowl removed. Yes, the fenders are huge.

Inside view with the seat panel and flooring removed.

Fenders removed. Check out the frame rail drooping down towards the front

Engine on it's way out!

Drivetrain alongside truck.

Frame rails have been scraped, treated and painted. Looking good!!!

This shows you really how far the project has come. Drivetrain is out, frame is cleaned up and painted, pedalbox removed, windows taken out.

Work started on doors

Front of frame bare, ready for the next step!
