Straight/Waste veggie oil conversion details
Bought myself a 1982 Diesel vanagon with the Westfalia conversion... I love camping, hate packing wet tents and wanted a diesel vehicle to convert to SVO/WVO. This fit the bill perfectly.
Bought over Ebay, sold by a lady in San Diego who advertized it as in good working condition, ready to go on camping trips. Except that the head was cracked, coolant in the oil, the front brakes were completely out of pad (the backing plate on the right one was half worn through!!!), one headlight was out, some missing fuses, and a dying battery. Besides that, I guess it was OK.
First order of business was to fix the motor. Got lucky and found an 83 Quantum with a 1.6TD in the yard.
